Safety and Environmental Protection Policy

The protection of Personnel, Property and the Environment are Central concerns of the Company in providing quality marine transportation.

The Company shall ensure the safety of its personnel and ships by identifying risks and providing appropriate measures to prevent accidents involving its ships and their equipment.

 

Environmental protection shall be achieved through an ongoing assessment of shipboard procedures and routine exercises involving ship and shore personnel. The Company shall continually strive to lessen the

impact its vessels may exert on the marine environment.

 

The Company intends to improve continuously its measures for safety and environmental protection through sound quality management principles. These principles are incorporated in the Company’s Safety

 

Management System that shall ensure:

  • Compliance with international and flag state rules and regulations.

  • Consideration of applicable codes, guidelines and standards recommended by international, national and industry organizations.

 

The Company’s Safety Management System shall contain measures to provide for:

  • Safe practices in ship operation and safe working environment.

  • Safeguards against all identified risks to its ships, personnel and the environment.

  • Continuously improving safety management skills of personnel ashore and aboard its ships.

 

ALL personnel shall be expected to comply with the requirements of this policy in the interest of enhancing Company-wide measures to ensure FAIRFIELD-MAXWELL SERVICES, LTD. continues its tradition of providing high quality, safe marine transportation to the global marketplace.
